1. DESCRIPTION

The BorgWorld Windows 3.1 Program Manager UI Enhancement driver version
1.3.0.4, when installed and activated, modifies the Program Manager "Run"
dialog to make it act more like a Windows 95 or Calmira "Run" dialog,
presenting a "Command Line:" combo box (instead of the standard
"Command Line:" edit box) which remembers previous entries when these entries
are selected to run by pressing the "OK" button.

An additional feature is that internet command lines, such as those that
begin with "mailto:" or "http:" are automatically dispatched to the default
browser registered on your system.

An additional feature is an enhanced Exit Windows dialog which allows four
choices instead of simply exiting and returning to DOS. These choices are:

a. Exit Windows
b. Restart Windows
c. Restart Computer
d. Turn Off Computer

Choice (d) only works if your computer hardware and BIOS allows a software
shutdown.

This software is public domain freeware, and may be used without permission
by anyone at any time.

3. RELEASE NOTES

Included in this newest version is an About Dialog, which you can invoke by
bringing up the Control Panel Drivers dialog, selecting this driver, and
clicking the "Setup" button, then clicking the "About..." button in the driver
setup dialog.

This newest version of the driver detects and locates both the "Run" dialog
and the "Exit" dialog by matching them to the actual dialog templates for
them in the resources in the Program Manager executable containing them.
Therefore it should work correctly in any localization of Windows 3.1.

There is an issue with the Program Manager "Run" dialog, where the number
of allowed characters in the "Command Line:" edit box is greater than the
length of the internal buffer that Program Manager uses. This can cause
Program Manager to crash if the entire allowed command line is entered into
the edit box.

Instead of limiting the edit portion of the "Command Line:" combo box
displayed when the driver is active to the "safe" number of characters, I
simply made the limit the same number of characters allowed in the standard
Program Manager "Run" dialog edit control. I really had no way to know the
exact length of the internal buffer used by Program Manager, I just know it
is insufficient to accept the entire command line allowed by the "Run"
dialog edit box. So be careful of long command lines!
